Off to the Beach

After spending a couple of days in the crazy city, I have deciced to move on the the beach. I am heading to a beach outside of KL, about 100 KM North (I think). Right now I have planned to go up the West coast beaches, back down to an old fort called Camron Hights, across to the Jungle rainforest and back up the East side to Thailand.

I now understand much more of the city and have gone out on my own a whole bunch of times. Yesterday I took the local bus to the Batu Caves. This is a religious site North of KL. I dont know if you have seen it on TV, but their religious beliefs involve percing themselves multiple times then climing 272 steps to the temple (cave). It was a cool place. I think I may have even seen a Bat or two (scary). After heading back to the city I went to check out the bus station. This place is like the floor of the stock exchange with chaos and people just shouting out destinations from little booths. Last night I had dinner in the very busy part of Chinatown, which involved a Tiger beer (which I love) and some sweet and sour chicken. The street is self seems to be alive with people shouting trying to get you to buy stuff and eat at their places (street is closed to cars). I bought a digital watch which cost about 3 bucks (after visiting every single vendor of course). It may be a bit before my next installment, dont know what the connections will be like....

DJ
Glad to hear from you and to be able to keep up to date as to your whereabouts. Wishing I was with you and not sitting at a desk with overflowing paper work.
Can't wait to hear about your adventures at THE BEACH. Brock is coming home this weekend so I will be sure to see how your mini vacation with him in Mexico was. Keep on keeping on.
