Sabai dee from Laos
Laos is an amazing country. As far as I am concerned they are some of the nicest people on earth. As you walk along the streets everyone says "Sabai dee" (which means hello). There are tourists mixed with locals and monks everywhere. Our first stop after Vientiane was Vang Vieng. This is a rural community with dirt roads, dogs, pigs, chickens, and tons of resturants that play movies non-stop. One of the major attractions of this little town is the outdoor activities that you can do. One of the days we rented bikes (for the very steep price of 1 US dollar a day, hahaha) and biked for about 12 KM (which to be honest is probably the longest I have gone on a bike in years) to check out a cave in the mountains. We then had to climb about 200 Meters right up. At the top was a temple and a huge cave which we explored. The day after we did some "Cave tubing", a 45 minute trip through a cave on a tube in almost total darkness. Then after we did a 3 hour kayaking trip. I dont know what has happend to me. I guess I am becoming a bit of a "outdoors man" after being stuck in the office for 3 years. From Vang Vieng we took a bus to Luang Prabang a UNESCO World Heritage site. There are tons of temples here. We visted a few one of the days, but have spent most of the time here just hanging out. Today we checked out cool waterfall about an hour out of town. Tomorrow we leave for Chiang Mai in Thailand. I will be very sad to leave Laos but I am looking forward to hanging out in Thailand for a month or so. Time to hit the beach again. Hope everyone is doing well in Canada (and elsewhere). I am looking forward to getting home and enjoying a bit of the Canadian summer.

Looking forward to seeing you dandy... I'll save the sarcasm for when you get home! Enjoy your time in Thailand lazing on the beach and see you soon!

Actually "sabai dee" means "your fly is low" when directly translated... Hey I've done my first interview so I'm waiting to hear back from them sometime this week, wish me luck.
Hi DJ,
I continue to enjoy your blog and your adventures...still envious...and I find this Mike F hilarious! I'd like to meet him some time.
